Data Translation devices

Out of the box Experimentor currently supports Data Translation devices.

A Data Translation device type definition supports two additional properties that must have the “define” in front of them:

  • subsystem – which defines the Data Translation board’s subsystem number
  • signalType – which defines the type of signal. Currently the following signal types are supported:
    • “Analog Input”
    • “Analog Output”
    • “Digital Input”
    • “Digital Output”

The serial port and counter-timer options are not currently supported.

So a sample Data Translation device driver might look like this for a digital input on subsystem 0 reading from a food-hopper infra-red beam used to determine when the subject animal eats from the food hopper:
