Experimentor Workbench can also work with MC Measurement Computing hardware.

Unfortunately, getting Workbench to work with MC requires a few additional steps, because of required DLLs that do not ship with Experimentor.

You will need to visit the following web page and download the latest icalsetup.exe file:  ftp://ftp.mccdaq.com/downloads/InstaCal/

Once you’ve downloaded it, run it and install their software.  This should install all the necessary DLLs onto your system that Experimentor Workbench needs to connect to MC hardware devices.

Creating MC devices

MC devices are defined the same way other types of devices are defined, but using the “MeausrementComputing” device driver:

Valid options for portType are as follows:

FirstPortA (the default)
FirstPortB
FirstPortC
FirstPortCL
FirstPortCH
SecondPortA
SecondPortB
SecondPortCL
SecondPortCH
ThirdPortA
ThirdPortB
ThirdPortCL
ThirdPortCH
FourthPortA
FourthPortB
FourthPortCL
FourthPortCH
FifthPortA

FifthPortCH
SixthPortA

SixthPortCH
SeventhPortA

EighthPortA

The easiest way to figure out your board number and port type is to use the InstaCal application you installed earlier.  It allows you to define and query your board(s).  You can read more about it here.
